Head of Foundation

Shared Interest Foundation is an international development charity whose mission is to support disadvantaged fair trade producers.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Foundation to lead its operational and strategic direction and develop its innovation and programme delivery. Based in our office in Newcastle, you will be responsible for the management of a small team and delivery of international projects and initiatives. You will manage relationships with our key donors and develop and deliver income generation with a focus on growing sustainable unrestricted income streams. In addition, you will lead the production of our annual Social Accounts.

With at least five years’ experience in international development and the ability to collaborate and influence at the most senior levels, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate successful delivery of multiple overseas projects. A strategic thinker, you must be an effective communicator, able to provide strong leadership and support to the Foundation team and maintain supportive relationships with partners within the UK and overseas. You will have strong financial planning and budgeting skills, a proven track record of delivering fundraising targets and maintaining effective networks with principle supporters and stakeholders.

Although the role will be based in Newcastle an ability to travel is essential as it is likely to involve periods of national and international travel.

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate commitment to, and empathy with, the aims and objectives of the Foundation and Society.
